Understanding Mexico’s Position in the Context of the Growing Intersection between Geopolitics and International Finance

This paper argues that, based on a comprehensive assessment, Mexico’s national power in the field of finance is feeble. Therefore, Mexican state not prepared to address an assertive way increasing expression systemic geopolitical rivalries through financial channels. Likewise, its close economic ties US increase degree exposure potential external disruption. As result, there are structural imbalances and vulnerabilities which jeopardise country’s security. Moreover, this dangerous situation heightened by lack appropriate policies institutional capabilities.
